Obituary

Gertrude H. Cox, 101, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, January 18, 2005, at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born August 23, 1903, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Mason&Mary (Small) Meservey.\r\nShe worked as a school teacher at Lincoln Elementary for over 30 years.\r\nGertrude married Leslie Cox on October 9, 1957 in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was a member of the Pythian Sisters, Past President of the State Association of Ladies' Auxiliary of Patriarchs Militant, and Past President of the State Assembly of Rebekah Lodge.\r\nShe is survived by her cousins, Dale (Donna) Talmage, Michael Talmage, and Marcia Small all of Eau Claire, Annette Bullard of Altoona, Richard (Marquita) Stowell of Bloomer, Jean Kietzman of Berkeley, CA, Milton (Pegeen) Snoeyenbos of Atlanta, GA; and many other relatives.\r\nGertrude was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leslie.\r\nServices will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2005 at First Congregational United Church of Christ Chapel with the Rev. Mark X. Pirazzini officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.\r\nFamily suggests memorials be sent to First Congregational Church, 310 Broadway Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701; Independent Order of Oddfellows Home, 1229 South Jackson Street, Green Bay, WI 54301.\r\n
