Obituary

Gertrude J. Frank, 90, of Eau Claire died Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born August 20, 1914, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Louis and Susan (Geitz) Lambert. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School with the class of 1931.\r\nGertrude married Richard "Dick" L. Frank at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls on November 13, 1937.\r\nGert was a dedicated wife and mother. She was an excellent baker and seamstress and also enjoyed crafts.\r\nGert and Dick enjoyed many summers at their cottage on upper Long Lake, where they spent time entertaining their family, fishing, and hiking.\r\nShe was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Parish and St. Olaf Catholic Church.\r\nSurvivors include her two sons, Richard (Judy) of Eau Claire and Tom (Dianne) of La Crosse; four daughters; Joyce (Clifford "Pete") Bowman and Sue (David) Miller both of Eau Claire, Mary (Tom) Thiede of Brookfield, and Carol Meservey of Chetek; 14 grandchildren, Lee (Cindy) Meservey of Amery, David (Marilyn) Meservey of Greenfield, Lloyd Meservey of Chetek, Christine (Matthew) Steahr, Kathryn (Rich) Stephan, Margery (Tim) Kleinschmidt, Peter Bowman, and Steven and Jason Frank, all of Eau Claire, Melissa (Marty) Harmon of Colfax, Dan and Paul Miller, both of Eau Claire, and Jordan and Nick Thiede, both of Brookfield; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (Gerald) Joas of Chippewa Falls and Phyllis (LaMoyne) Paape of Eau Claire; and one brother-in-law, William (Jean) Frank of Eau Claire.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2001; her parents; grandson, Jim Meservey; infant granddaughter, Ann Marie Bowman; son-in-law, Derrell Meservey; two sisters, Dorothy Beaudette and Olive Allen; and one brother, Orrin Lambert.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be at held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005, St. Olaf Catholic Church with Father Frank Corradi officiating. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Hallie. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. There will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer vigil Wednesday at the funeral home.\r\nGert's family requests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association - Indianhead Chapter, 1227B Menomonie St., Eau Claire, WI 54703\r\n
