Obituary

Gladys E. Hanson, 97, of Eau Claire, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at her home. \r\nShe was born in the Town of Pleasant Valley on November 12, 1913, a daughter of James and Ragna (Ness) Hanson.\r\nGladys worked for Uniroyal Tire Factory as a messenger for many years, and later worked as a housekeeper for "Doc" Larson.\r\nShe was a member of First Lutheran Church. Gladys enjoyed Norwegian baking, 2 vacations to Norway, and speaking Norwegian and educating others. She also enjoyed reading books, planting flowers, and spending time with her sister and family. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. \r\nGladys is survived by a nephew, Robert (Shirley) Baker; nieces Bonnie (Roger) Winter and Cheryl Fleming; and also by numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Susana Baker; nephew Donald Baker and niece, Karen A. Geissler. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 1st Ave. in Eau Claire with Pastor Scott Miller officiating. Burial will be at Eleva City Cemetery in Eleva. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
