Obituary

GLADYS H. HOLDEN, 86, formerly of 903 Starr Ave. Died Saturday, October 5, 1996 at the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on April 26, 1910 in Eau Claire to H. Oscar and Anna (Nelson) Anderson. On August 10, 1931, Gladys married Robert Holden in St. Paul. \r\nShe was a lifetime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she had participated in Women of ELCA, women's circle and the quilting group. Gladys enjoyed crocheting which included making afghans for family and friends, and had enjoyed meeting with her card group that started with friends in her youth and is still active today.\r\nSurvivors include two grandsons, James Holden of Chippewa Falls and John Holden of Wild Rose; three granddaughters, Rochelle Elwood and Katherine Saufelt of Chippewa Falls and Anne Braden of Parachute,CO; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Mildred Meltz of Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Rosamund Anderson of Cottage Grove,MN, and Ione Holden of Eau Claire; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hamm of Altoona; five nieces and one nephew.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, James; two grandchildren, Steven and Mary Holden; brother, Harold Anderson and sister, June Hamm.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
