Obituary

Gladys A. Larson, 99, of Eau Claire died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born in Mondovi on January 4, 1908, the daughter of Tom and Lena (Amundson) Anderson.\r\nShe graduated from Mondovi High School in 1926 and then attended Normal School receiving her teaching certificate. Gladys taught school until her marriage to Oscar Larson on May 25, 1928.\r\nGladys worked many years as a retail clerk at the Farmers Store in Eau Claire until her retirement.\r\nShe was a longtime member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she had been active in Quilting Circle and Ladies Aide. She was a member of the Minnesota-Wisconsin Retail Clerks Association.\r\nGladys is survived by nieces and nephews, including Maurita Rolbiecki of Fountain City; and great-nieces and great-nephews including Sandra (Paul) Baker of Onalaska.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar in 1972; her son LaMoine Larson; four brothers, Leonard, George, James and Harvey Anderson; and a sister, Eleanor Schwanke.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastor Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving her family.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Syverson Lutheran Home, 816 Porter Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701.
