GLADYS A. MELBY, age 89, of 2120 Heights Dr., died Tuesday , March 24, 1998 at The Clairemont Nursing Home. She was born May 10, 1908 in Northfield to Nels O. and Mary (Pederson) Nelson. Gladys married Lloyd T. Melby on August 30, 1930 in Pigeon Falls. They lived in Northfield until moving to Eau Claire in 1952 where Gladys did professional cleaning for many years until her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include, two sons, Everett (Charmaine) of Venice, FL., and Philip (Pat) of Eau Claire; five grandsons, Kim (Kimberly) Melby of Plover, Greg (Michelle) Melby of Jacksonville, FL., Mark (Janice) Yeskie of Wichita, KS., Bryan Melby of Eau Claire and Brad Melby of Wausau; four granddaughters, Denise Melby of Milwaukee, Debra (Dave) Polden of Eau Claire, Kay (John) Dyer of Convent Station, NJ., and Ronda (Peter) Bidinost of Pacifica, CA.; nine great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Wally Yeskie of Kansas City, KS.; \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Lloyd; a daughter, Sondra Yeskie; three brothers, Melvin, Oscar and Norman Nelson; and two sisters, Mabel Berget and Olga Samuelson. \r\nGladys was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church,Northfield with Pastor Thomas W. Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
