Obituary

Glenn C. St. Arnault, 79, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin surrounded by his family. Glenn was born on October 13, 1938 in River Falls, Wisconsin to Frances and Shirley (Sansburn) St. Arnault. He graduated in 1956 from Regis High School. He was also a graduate of the two year Accounting program at Chippewa Valley Technical College. Glenn married Judy Hartz on May 15, 1965. They celebrated their 53rd Anniversary on Tuesday with a special dinner served at the hospital, which Glenn had ordered. Besides being a great husband, father and grandfather he has been a mentor to many baseball players in the area. His love for the game has been evident for many years with his involvement with Sand Lot Ball, Little League, Babe Ruth, Legion and the Eau Claire Cavaliers. Glenn was instrumental in the forming of the Eau Claire Cavaliers in 1971 and was the first manager from 1971-75 and 1977-78 and has continued as a board member since. He took the Eau Claire American Legion Baseball team to two state titles in 1969 and 1970. Glenn was inducted into the Eau Claire Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2013 he authored a book commemorating his 55 years in baseball. Glenn was employed at H & L Men's shop for 8 years, Johnson & Huleatt for 15 years, then at Screen Graphics which became Powertex Sportswear since 1987. Glenn still went to work each day and enjoyed his customers and co-workers. He also was radio announcer with WBIZ with Lou Kassera for 10 years and the sports color man and Statistician with WEAU radio for 3 years. Glenn was a noted basketball official for 25 years with the Wisconsin Indianhead Assoc. Glenn was a member of Immaculate Conception parish since 1965. Glenn enjoyed the many trips to the cottage on North Sand Lake in Webster, WI and the trips and vacations Glenn and Judy took to Florida over the years. He was content watching any sporting event or listening to" his oldies". He loved watching and supporting his children and grandchildren take part in their activities. He is survived by his wife, Judy of Eau Claire, WI, son, Greg St. Arnault of Woodbury, MN, daughter, Cindy (Charles) Eckes of Chippewa Falls, Grandchildren, Retta and Mitchell St. Arnault and Ellie and Evan Eckes. The family extends a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sal O'Baid for his years of care.
