GLENN A. PETERSON, 80, of 1121 E. Lexington Blvd., died Sunday, March 23,1997 at his home. He was born September 3, 1916 in Fairchild to Scandinavianimmigrants John and Olava (Melom) Peterson. He graduated from Fairchild High School in 1935, playing center on the championship 1935 Fairchild basketball team. He attended Eau Claire Vocational School and worked for several years at Gillette Rubber Company prior to W.W.II.\r\nGlenn married Josephine D. Jesse in 1942, then served in the Army until October, 1945. After W.W.II, Glenn and Josephine built and operated Peterson Pie Bakeryin Eau Claire until 1958. He then founded Badger Bookkeeping Service, operatingit until his retirement in 1980. He remained active in retirement as a real estate broker, Kinship Big Brother, food collection driver for the Franciscan Sisters FoodPantry, and an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church.\r\nIn his final weeks at home, Glenn was attended by his wife Josephine; children, Ron (Linda) of Mayfield, Kentucky, Gary (Diane) of Rice Lake, and Gloria of Madison.He is also survived by seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothersLeonard (Doris) of Kansas City, and H. Orlyn (Wanda) of Augusta. He was pre-ceded in death by sister Alvina (Earl) Ferguson, and brothers Palmer, Martin (Grace),Patrick, Arnold, and Clifford (Margaret).\r\nFuneral services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ned S. Lenhart officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. \r\nFriends may call 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and onehour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nGlenn wished to have a joyous celebration of life at his passing and invited all familyand friends to attend his services prepared to sing, reminisce, and rejoice in eachother's friendship.\r\nFamily suggests memorials be directed to Eau Claire Kinship Program.
