\r\nGloria Shirley Roehrich, died at age 86, in the loving company of her family on August 2, 2011. \r\nGloria was born on November 18, 1924, to Albert and Ovida (Stordahl) Rude in Faribault, MN. She graduated from Faribault High School. She attended St. Olaf College and Mankato State Teachers College. She taught Elementary grades in Ivanhoe and Dundas, MN. \r\nGloria married Richard Lawrence Roehrich on April 14, 1945, at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior, in Faribault, MN. They lived in Faribault and moved to Mankato where they raised their five children. Gloria was active in Mrs. Jaycees, Mankato Association for Retarded Citizens and St. John's Episcopal Church. Richard received a promotion at Northern States Power Company (Excel Energy), so the family moved to Eau Claire, WI. Here Gloria was involved in Christ Church Cathedral and the Eau Claire Association for Retarded Citizens. \r\nIn retirement, Gloria and Richard lived in Stone Lake, WI, on Lake Sissabagama. They were involved with the Lake Homeowners Association and Church of Ascension in Hayward, WI. Gloria spent time working with Northern Center in Chippewa Falls, WI, assisting with Parents Group, their newsletter and the Fun Fest for residents and their families. Winters were spent in Apache Junction, AZ. There, Gloria sang in the choir at the Church of Transfiguration in Mesa, AZ, and in the Gold Tones Women's Chorus.\r\nGloria enjoyed nature, traveling, fishing and golfing. Gloria lived a full and joyful life. Her faith was her strength in her walk with the Lord. \r\nGloria is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 66 years, Richard; five children, Susan, Nancy (Larry), Gary (Claudette), Mark (Kristine), and Mary; six grandchildren, Lisa, Christopher, Ashley, Adam, Alexis and Arianna; and one great-granddaughter, Addison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ovida; and sister, Eileen Williamson.\r\nFuneral Service will be held at 10AM, Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Christ Church Cathedral, 510 S Farwell St., Eau Claire, with the Very Rev. Bruce N. Gardner officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire., also one hour prior to Mass at church on Saturday. Interment will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault, MN.\r\nMemorials are preferred to Christ Church Cathedral, St. Francis Homes of Salina, KS or donor's choice.
