Obituary

Gordon "Bud" P. Easterson, 86, of Eleva, died Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville. He was born in Eau Claire on January 2, 1919, the son of George and Pauline (Anderson) Easterson.\r\nGordon married Virginia E. Huse in Eau Claire on January 27, 1940.\r\nHe entered the U.S. Army in 1945 during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific Theater until his honorable discharge in 1946.\r\nGordon and Virginia farmed in the town of Pleasant Valley for 25 years and then he worked over 20 years in the maintenance department for the Eau Claire Board of Education until his retirement. \r\nHe was an avid Packer fan, enjoyed working in his garden and spent his retirement years camping. He loved all dogs, especially Dalmatians which he had from childhood. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.\r\nSurvivors include his son, Dale (Karen) Easterson of Rudolph; two daughters, Eleanor (Robert) Johnson of Hixton and Karen (Larry) Knutson of Colfax; seven grandchildren Wayne (Julie) Bollinger of Eau Claire, Darryl Bollinger of Hixton, Jill (Dennis) Kitelinger of Eleva, Gail (Jim) Feltz of Plover, Amy (Doug) Wagner of Wisconsin Rapids, Brian (Kristy) Knutson of Princeton, MN, and Eric (Missy) Knutson of Colfax; sixteen great grandchildren; his sister, Kathryn Fjelstad of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia in 1991, and his parents.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church in Eleva with Pastor William A. Wendt officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery where American Legion Post #53 will conduct military graveside rites. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2005, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. \r\n
