Gordon "Gordy" D. Loomis, age 65, of Eleva, WI, died, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 near his home while doing what he loved, bow hunting. Gordon was born March 7, 1950 in Mondovi, WI to Lawrence L. and Elmira C. ( Wenaas) Loomis. He was a graduate from Eagle River High School and went on to attend Chippewa Valley Technical Institute and pursued an Electrician Degree. During this time he also served in the U.S. Navy. Gordon then went on to run his own electrical business his entire life. Gordon was an avid outdoors person and hunting and fishing was his main thing in life. In the past, Gordon had horses and would take them our west where he went into the mountains to hunt the "big game." Being an outdoors man, he enjoyed time splitting wood and sitting around a bonfire with family and friends. Gordy also had his pride and joy, his John Deere tractor, named "My Honey". In the past, Gordon would dress as Santa Clause for Viking Electric during Christmas and greet customers on their behalf. He took it one step further and would go to peoples homes in Eleva with his horse drawn sleigh or covered wagon, passing out presents the family had given him. Gordon is survived by his son, Evan (Maggy Lokken) Stiner of Eleva; two step-daughters, DeeDee Anderson of Largo, FL and Diane (Claude) Jarvis of Glidden, WI; one grandson, Jamie Anderson; two brothers, Roger of Eau Claire and James of Chicago, IL; one sister, Jane Dobbs of Colfax; nieces, nephews, Joshua, Amy and Andrew Paul and Rachael and Robert Scott; other relatives and many friends; and of course, his loyal and faithful companion, his dog, Jack. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Robert. A Celebration of Life will take place from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, WI with a Time Of Reflection at 6:45 p.m. Arrangements are with Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, WI.
