Grace E. Dodge, 90, passed away peacefully March 15, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Eau Claire, after a brief hospitalization, surrounded by her family. She was born in Koshkanong, MO, October 14, 1927, to Wilbur and Ruth (Jewell) Edgington. Grace worked at the Sparley Café in Eau Claire where she met Laverne T. Dodge. They fell in love and were married on May 10, 1946, at the First Baptist Church in Eau Claire. They had three children; Dennis, Jack, and Diane. Grace is survived by her children, Dennis (Gayle) Ellsworth, Jack (Mary) of Eau Claire, Diane (Brian) Brunelle of Merrill; her grandchildren, Nathan (Betsy) of Eau Claire, Molly (Miles) Pure of Naples, FL, Ali (Jerry) Papke of Kingston, MI, Jacob (Tabitha) of Osceloa, WI, Karly and Melissa Fordahl, Madison, WI. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Grace (Duane) Johnson. Grace is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laverne in 2006; brother, Karl; sister, Ann; and brother-in-law, Bill Dodge. Grace loved her family, her home, her church and her crafts; she loved feeding people and her birds. And we loved her. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 1st Ave, Eau Claire, with Rev. Jerry Morris officiating. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. and continue until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
