GRACE M. SWANSON, 81, formerly of 3456 Miller St., died peacefully Saturday, August 1, 1998 at Luther Hospital. She was born May 8, 1917 in Minong to Alfred and Hannah (Knudtson) Nyseth. Grace married Jerome Swanson on October 26, 1940 at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. She worked at Sterling Paper Mill in Eau Claire until moving to Milwaukee where she worked 26 years at Allis Chalmers in the shipping department. Grace and Jerome moved back to Eau Claire in 1976.\r\nSurvivors include three sisters, Hilda Mai and Olivia Rehberg both of Eau Claire and Lila Austin of Strum; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerome in 1988; four brothers, Murphy, Joseph, Oscar, and Marvin Nyseth; and a sister, Hazel Kappus.\r\nGrace was very kind hearted, generous, and supportive to all of her family. She enjoyed her fine collectibles and figurine statues.\r\nPrivate Funeral Services will be Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
