Obituary

Gunda O. Swanson, 101, died peacefully Saturday December 29, 2001 at Clairemont Nursing &Rehabilitation Home. She resided there for the past 8 years, receiving tender and loving care. Gunda was born on March 9, 1900 to John and Karoline (Market) Froseth in Springbrook Township, Dunn County. She married Edward W. Swanson on June 25, 1921. \r\nGunda worked at Uniroyal Tire Company during World War II. \r\nShe loved to serve coffee, tea, and refreshments to many of her friends that visited her home. \r\nSurvivors include her son, Edward J. of Colorado Springs, CO; three daughters, Lorraine Market of Eau Claire, Eileen Sleeper of Rialto, Calif., and Joyce (David) Parker of Waunakee; one brother, Clarence Froseth of Eau Claire; two sisters, Hilda Froseth of Eau Claire, and Irene (Lloyd) Lockwood of Los Angeles, Calif; she is also blessed with eighteen grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward in 1974; a daughter, Ione Dickens; six brothers, Nels, Palmer, Harold, Herman, Julius and Raymond Froseth; a sister, Norma Isakson.\r\nServices will be at 11a.m. Thursday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd or the Clairemont Nursing&Rehabilitation Home. \r\n.
