Gustave C. "Gust" Olson, 96, formerly of 901 S. Farwell St., died Sunday, July 14, 2002 at the Dove Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born January 31, 1906 to Albert and Sophia (Swanson) Olson in the town of Pleasant Valley. \r\nGust farmed in the Town of Brunswick, for 61 years until retiring, he then moved to Eau Claire where he married Luella Steffens in 1975.\r\nSurvivors include two brothers, Martin (Helen) of Eagle River, and Helmer (Esther) of the town of Brunswick; a sister, Gerda Gullickson of Altoona; a step-daughter, Joanne (Les) Mayer of St Cloud, MN; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Luella in 1990; three brothers, Alvin, Harold and John Olson; three sisters, Irma Benson, Esther and Florence Olson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
