HARLEY H. FREIMUTH, 94, of 2826 6th St., died Wednesday, May 28, 1997 at his home. He was born December 29, 1902, in Bonduel, Wisconsin to Fred and Ida Freimuth. Harley was a graduate of UW-Oshkosh where he received his teaching degree and later attended UW-Madison to earn his Master's degree in Education. Harley married Marion R. Steiner in Eau Claire at Grace Lutheran Church on July 28, 1944. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. \r\nWhen Harley came to Eau Claire he first taught at Eau Claire Jr. High and then at the Eau Claire Senior High School. He was principal at Mt. Washington and was the first principal at Roosevelt when it opened, working there until his retirement in 1967.\r\nHarley was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sanctuary Lodge #347 F&AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Eau Claire.\r\nSurvivors include his wife of 52 years Marion; a niece, Wendy (Dennis) Morris of Oneida and a nephew, Lynn (Cathy) Larsen of Rhinelander; and special friends, Dick, Judy and Ross Kleiner.\r\nHe was preceded in death by four sisters, Elfreida Freimuth, Lulu Ihlenfeld, Dorothea Luth, and Belle Larsen.
