Harold Fillmore, 79, of Altoona, passed away peacefully at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home on July 6, 2012. He was born on August 17, 1932, in the Sheldon, WI area. He was raised on a farm, and began driving a milk truck as his first job. He accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 17. Harold served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1953. After he married, he and his wife had seven children. Harold enjoyed bowling, watching TV, eating out with family, and telling stories of his days in the Navy and as an over-the-road trucker. Harold is survived by his seven children, Lynn (Willy) Lipps of AK, Laurie (Matt) Williams of AK, Bret Fillmore of WI, John (Sheila) Fillmore of WI, Mike (Kim) Fillmore of WI, David (Arlene) Fillmore of WI, and Luona (Ben) Pittman of MS; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Glen (the late Dorothy) Fillmore of NM, Paul (Elaine) Fillmore of MN, and Lloyd (Betsy) Fillmore of NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence Fillmore. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., in Eau Claire, with Pastor Timothy Warner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sheldon, WI.
