HAROLD L. HANSON, 88, of Watertown and formerly of 2329 Jordan Ct., Eau Claire died Thursday, September 3, 1998 at Watertown Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 17, 1909 to Thorwald and Dora (Soli) Hanson in Eau Claire. Harold attended Eau Claire Public Schools, graduating from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1928. On September 14, 1935, he married Gwendolyn Dragseth in Eau Claire. He worked 40 years for the Farmer Store Company which included 5 years as Manager of the store in Fairchild,WI and 17 years as Assistant Manager and Manager of the Eau Claire store until 1970. He managed a Minnesota Fabrics Store in Milwaukee until his retirement in 1975.\r\nHarold was a member of First Lutheran Church,Eau Claire where he served as President of the Congregation, Secretary of Church Council, and Director of First Lutheran Foundation. He was a member of the Masonic Sanctuary Lodge #347 F.& A.M., Eau Claire Consistory. \r\nSurvivors include his four sons, Thomas (Mary Jo) of Eau Claire, David (Sharon) of Watertown, John (Gail) of Chicago, IL, and Stephen (Alice) of Broomfield CO; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Hanson of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn in 1991; two brothers, Clarence and Arnold; and a sister, Dorothy Oliver.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church, the First Lutheran Church Foundation, or Luther Hospital.\r\n
