HAROLD J. JOHNSON, 88, formerly of 600 Graham Ave., died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Syverson Lutheran Home. He was born on June 6, 1910 to John M. and Amanda (Olson) Johnson. Harold was raised on a farm in the town of Drammen. At twenty-two years of age, he moved to Eau Claire where he started working in the fuel oil business. Harold married Elizabeth Kuyper on May 29, 1942 in Waukon, IA. He and Frank Miller owned and operated the Phillips '66 station at the corner of Menomonie St. and Clairemont Ave. for 39 years until retiring in 1972.\r\nHe was a member of First Lutheran Church, and sang in church choirs for 45 years. He was a member of Eau Claire Masonic Lodge #112 F&AM, the Mehara Shrine Club of Eau Claire and the Eau Claire Scottish Rite, and was a member of their choir for 35 years.\r\nSurvivors include two brothers, J. Allen (Corraine) and Norman Johnson both of Eau Claire; two sisters, Virginia Dittner of Eau Claire and Evelyn (Floyd) Stillman of Zephyr Hills, FL; many nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, John P. Kuyper of Denver, CO.\r\nHarold was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth in 1992; two sisters, Mildred Jensen and Ruth Walker; a brother-in-law, Maynard Dittner; and a sister-in-law, Lila Johnson.\r\nFuneral services will at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in the church chapel with The Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Brunswick Cemetery in the town of Brunswick. Friends 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. There will be a Masonic Service at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.\r\nMemorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church, Luther Hospital or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
