Harold "Harry" Severson, 79, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, November 18, 2004, at Clairemont Nursing Home. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on October 2, 1925, the son of Sever and Adella (Huse) Severson.\r\nHarry married Marjorie A. Thompson on June 6, 1948, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. They spent their honeymoon in the Birchwood area. Harry and Marjorie had many campfires with family and friends at this special place for the past 56 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting at the cabin near Gordon.\r\nHe operated Harry's Economy Oil Service Station for 30 years on the corner of Menomonie and Ferry Streets. He then worked 10 years at Copp's Grocery Store until his retirement in 1994.\r\nHarry played fast pitch softball for many years. He was one of the original members of the Flying Eagle's Ski Club.\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, Loren (Elva) of Eau Claire; three daughters, Lynne (Ron) Zimmerman and Kay Severson both of Fall Creek, and Jennifer (Greg) Mitchell of Altoona; seven grandchildren, Tony (Terri) Zimmerman of Chippewa Falls, Adam and Joshua both of Eau Claire, Rebecca Zimmerman of Peoria, AZ, Jeremiah, Jessica and Jared Mitchell all of Altoona; two great grandsons, Chance and Chase Zimmerman; four sisters, Lois Candell, Mabel O'Neill, Marion Peterson, and Dianne (Gary) Green, all of Eau Claire; four brothers, Rodney (Mary), Donald both of Eau Claire, John (Donna) of Chippewa Falls, and Theodore (Dawn) of Black River Falls; brother-in-law, Bill Lawler; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHarry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Severson; grandson, Richard Severson; sister, Caroline Lawler; and brother, Charles.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2004, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Churness officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
