HAROLD "SWEDE" L. JOHNSON, 91, of Eau Claire died Sunday, May 28, 2000 at Dove Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born May 9, 1909, in the Town of Wheaton to Peter and Carrie (Schjulstad) Johnson. On May 30, 1958, Harold married Madlyn (Kaiser) Spooner in Red Wing, MN. He worked at Uniroyal Tire Company for forty-three years, retiring as a supervisor in 1971. \r\nHarold was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.\r\nHe is survived by his wife Madlyn; a step-son, David Spooner (Mary Beth) of Chippewa Falls; a step-daughter, Donna (Stan) Thayer of Brighton, CO; three grandsons, Brad (Michelle) Thayer of Littleton,CO, Joe (Kayanna) Spooner and Glen Spooner(Lorraine Durick) both of Chippewa Falls; two granddaughters, Tracy Thayer of Brighton,CO and Jill Spooner of Boston, MA; and six great grandsons; two sisters, Esther Blaisdell of Allen Park, MI and Vera (George) Swor of Hermantown, MN; a brother, Victor Johnson of Mesa, AZ.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Paul Johnson; a sister, Myrtle Amdahl; and a sister-in-law, Kay Johnson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Natalie Leske officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nFamily suggests memorials be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
