HARRY N. CROUSE, 98, formerly of McAllen,Texas, died Thursday, June 11, 1998 at The Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was born on September 15, 1899 in Ireton, Iowa, to George and Katherine (Smith) Crouse. On February 23, 1924, he was united in marriage to Maidie Davis in Royal, Iowa. After their marriage they settled on a farm northwest of Paullina, Iowa, where they farmed until 1964. At that time, they retired to McAllen, Texas. Harry had recently moved to Eau Claire this year to be near his daughter.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Shirley Crouse of Eau Claire,WI, and Katherine (Stan) Johnson of Basin,WY; three sons, Harlan (Janett) Crouse of Kerrville,TX, Gale (Ida) Crouse of Cincinnati,OH, and James (Loraine) Crouse of Harlingen,TX; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Maidie in 1992; a brother, Lester; two sisters, Alma Brown and Ara Bonnema; and an infant grandson, Steven.\r\nGraveside committal services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 22 at Prairie View Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, both in Paullina, Iowa. Rev. Donald Freeman will be officiating. \r\n
