Obituary

Harvey C. Heuer, 83, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Dunn County, Weston Township near Menomonie, WI, on November 3, 1926, a son of Frank and Clara (Wold) Heuer. \r\nHe enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 25, 1944. He served in the Asiatic Pacific area and was honorably discharged on July 19, 1946.\r\nHarvey married Beatrice H. Gullickson in Eau Claire at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on June 26, 1948.\r\nHe worked over 40 years as a tire builder at Uniroyal until his retirement. \r\nHe was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.\r\nGrowing up with Harvey as a father was the greatest gift a child could receive. He always encouraged his children that they could achieve anything they put their mind to. He always enjoyed trips with his family hunting, fishing, and backyard summer neighborhood parties. \r\nHarvey always believed humor was the best medicine for anything that ailed you. As the family grew to adulthood, Harvey always treasured time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was the heart of his life.\r\nAn avid mall walker, Harvey was known for his resonating "Gooood Morning" greeting to everyone he met.\r\nHarvey is survived by his wife, Beatrice; two sons, Gary (Sheryl) Heuer of Eau Claire and David Heuer of Augusta; his daughter, Kathy (Gordon) Radle of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Rick) Hanson, Sara (Joshua) Dalton, Valarie (Jason) Bauer, Jessica Radle, Alex Heuer, Paul Heuer and Jamie Ivanov; a sister, Emagene "Emy" Boots of Fairfield, CA; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Danny and James Heuer; two brothers, Myril and Jerry Heuer; and a sister, Betty Olson. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on November 20, 2009, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Rev. Jack L. Olson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington where VFW Post #305 will present military graveside honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\n
