Obituary

Hattie O. Amble, 95, formerly of 1013 E. Grand Ave., Eau Claire died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Dove Healthcare. She was born in Sand Creek, Dunn County, Wisconsin on October 23, 1908, the daughter of Henry O. and Clara (Peterson) Anderson. Hattie married Richard I. Amble in Colfax on June 1, 1932. \r\nHattie and Richard farmed in Colfax until 1957, then owned and operated the Johnsonville Store in rural Eau Claire for ten years. After Richard's death in 1969 Hattie worked as a nursing assistant at Luther Hospital until her retirement. Following retirement she provided home healthcare for many friends and family members.\r\nHattie enjoyed traveling, gardening, her daily walks, and spending time with and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was dearly loved by her family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Clarice (David) Pierce of Eau Claire; two granddaughters, Jane Pierce and her husband Jody Doro of Rhinelander, and their son, Joshua, and Teresa Holmes and her husband Jeffrey of Eau Claire, and their children Daniel and Kaitlin; sister-in-law, Inez (Ray) Schrader of Sand Creek; many nieces, nephews and cousins including her niece, Nancy Pellegrini of Charlotte, NC; and special friend, Sharon Loe of Eau Claire.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; a daughter, Elaine; her parents; three brothers, Arthur, Layton, and infant Orvin Anderson; and her three sisters, Amy Swanson, Lenora Dietsche and Gertrude Anderson.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2004 at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Friday at the church.\r\nHer family requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54703.
