Obituary

Hazel I. Ede, 98, of Eau Claire died Monday, August 30, 2004, in her sleep at the Clairemont in Eau Claire. She was born on June 26, 1906 in the township of Canton, Buffalo County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Abel and Matilda (Klammer) Adams.\r\nHazel married Sanford Andy Ede in St. James, MN in August of 1924. They owned and operated Ede Funeral Home in Mondovi until Sanford's death in 1953. She then moved to Eau Claire where she worked many years for Deutch's Furs until her retirement.\r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Harriet Ede Kins of Altoona; her son, Arlis (Kathryn) Ede of Dallas, TX; and nine grandchildren, Rev. Gail (Bill) Klavetter, Jack (Mary Kay) Kins, Nancy (Dan) Robinson, Jerry (Jo) Kins, Mary (Steve) Butts, Beth (Steve) Fox, Carl (Connie) Ede, John Ede and David (Shannon)Ede; twenty-six great grandchildren; and two great great grandsons.\r\nHazel is preceded in death by her husband, Sanford in 1953; her parents; two sisters, Mattie Adams and Jessie Adams; and her brother, Carl Adams.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004, at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi with Pastor James S. Tallman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Lutheran Cemetery in Mondovi. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
