HAZEL M. SUNNE ,age 98, formerly of 713 Broadway St., died Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at Zumbrota Nursing Home in Zumbrota,MN. She was born May 1, 1900 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, to Lugene and Mary (Hensler) Copp. Hazel married Oscar J. Sunne on June 25, 1924 in Waukesha, WI. She lived in Eau Claire until 1993 when she moved to daughter, Doris's home in Johnston,IA. \r\nShe was a long time member of First Lutheran Church where she had been active in women's circle. Hazel was "Queen" of the Zumbrota Nursing Home in 1996. Her favorite activities were playing "500", bingo and "the marble game". \r\nSurvivors include, a son, Donald (Ruth) Sunne of Fertile, Iowa; a daughter, Doris (James) Anderson of Johnston, Iowa; a son-in-law, Mel (Darelene) Oien of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar in 1987; a daughter, Marilyn in 1988; seven brothers, Arthur, Leonard, Russsell, Robert, Harry, William and Earl Copp; and a sister, Helen Bucholz.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nThe family requests that memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church.
