HELEN A. GULLICKSRUD, 93, of 2126 11th St., Eau Claire, died Monday, April 26, 1999 at Luther Hospital. She was born on January 16, 1906 in Strum, Wisconsin to Anton and Hannah (Amundson) Gullicksrud.\r\nHelen became a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Luther Hospital School of Nursing in 1928. She worked in the Histology Lab at Luther Hospital for 42 years until retiring in 1976.\r\nShe was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church and Luther Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, and also a member of The Samaritan Club of Luther Hospital. Helen enjoyed knitting and made over 700 caps for newborn babies at Luther Hospital.\r\nSurvivors include a sister, Viola Laird of Chippewa Falls; two sisters-in-law, Vernie Gullicksrud of Strum and Ilene Sunday of Eau Claire; ten nieces and nephews, Wanda (Jerry) Meinen, Jim and Robert Laird, Linda and Sharon Gullicksrud all of Chippewa Falls, Larry Everson and Donald (Daneen) Gullicksrud both of Eau Claire, Duane (Connie) Gullicksrud of Osseo, Ron (Pat) Everson of Marshfield, and Linda Ehlers of New Richmond.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Genhard and Nordahl; and two sisters, Ruth Everson and Thelma Kinderman.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at First Lutheran Church with The Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in West Beef River Cemetery, town of Unity in Trempealeau County. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (today) at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
