Helen M. Halbleib, 92, of Eau Claire died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Dove Healthcare Nursing&Rehabilitation. \r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on May 9, 1918, the daughter of Henry and Tina (Olson) Werner. \r\nHelen married Lyman J. Halbleib on October 30, 1943, in Souix Falls, SD. Helen worked at Uniroyal prior to her marriage to Lyman. After starting a family, she remained a devoted housewife and loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. \r\nShe enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, shopping and especially her music including singing. In later years, she volunteered at the Sacred Heart Hospital Gift Shop. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, turning Catholic in her later years and joining Immaculate Conception Parish. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.\r\nHelen is survived by her daughter, Susan Geary of New Palestine, Indiana; two sons, Terry (Jill) Halbleib of Eau Claire and Mark (Debbie) of Cross Lake, MN; eight grandchildren, Bill, Jeff, Jenny, Kelly, Sarah, Josh, Abraham, and Zachary; nieces and nephews, and other relatives.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman in 2004; parents; and three brothers, Arnold, Richard, and Lyman. \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Wisconsin, 1227-B Menomonie St., Eau Claire, WI 54703\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Eugene A. Klink officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nThe family of Helen would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Dove Healthcare West for the care given to Helen, especially over the last several weeks.
