HELEN W. JOHNSON, 95, formerly of Mount Washington Residence, died Thursday, May 28, 1998 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. She was born in Stevenstown in LaCrosse County,Wisconsin on December 14, 1902 to Even and Agnethe (Swenson) Johnson. Helen moved with her family to the town of Hale where she attended Huskelhus elementary school.\r\nShe lived six years in Madison where she did domestic work and then returned to Eau Claire where she worked at the Galloway Hotel, The Eau Claire Sauerkraut Factory and then at Huebsch Laundry and Dry Cleaning, until her retirement in 1965.\r\nSurvivors include; a sister, Ida (Edgar) Schaefer of Menomonie; and many nieces and nephews, including a nephew, Charles (Lucy) Anderson of Eau Claire.\r\nHelen was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Edgar and George; and three sisters, Ruth Julson, Emma Anderson and Olga Gall.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor Jeanne L. Warner officiating. Burial will be in Lower Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pigeon Falls. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
