Helen V. Knight, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 11, 2026, surrounded by family.

Helen was born August 19, 1938, to John Veitch and Eva (Burnham) Veitch in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1955 at the age of 16 and immediately began her career in the insurance industry. Helen married in 1960 and later divorced in 1973, raising her three children while continuing her career, which later transitioned into the financial industry where she retired from Bremmer Financial in 2003.

In her personal time, you would be hard pressed to find Helen sitting still unless it was around a card table playing a game of bridge, cribbage, or any other card game or puzzle. She also enjoyed a friendly round of golf. And expressed her creativity through quilting, sewing and crocheting, which she generously shared. Through all of the above, as well as her time at First Congregational Church and volunteering at L E Phillips Senior Center, Helen amassed a multitude of amazing friends.

Helen is survived by her three children Terrence Knight, Pamela (Dave) Soderquist and Bradley (Terri) Knight; grandchildren McKenzie Knight, John (Mariah) Knight, Benjamin Soderquist, Madison (Jordan Rymarkiewicz) Knight, and Laurel Soderquist; great-grandchildren Ayden, Hazel, and Olivia Rymarkiewicz; sister-in-law Cathy Veitch; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Rita Veitch, and her brother, Rollie Veitch, and his first wife, Donna Peterson.

Visitation will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at First Congregational Church, 310 Broadway St., Eau Claire with a service at 2:00 p.m., followed by a gathering to share stories and celebrate Helen’s life in the church’s Ingram Hall.
