Marcott, 93, of Eau Claire\r\ndied surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 3, 2011, at Oakwood Villa\r\nNursing home in Altoona, WI. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHelen was born in Saint\r\n Louis Park, MN on\r\nMarch 5, 1918, a daughter of Peter and Jennie (Stavem) Bjornton. Helen married Henry\r\n"Hank" Marcott, Sr. on April 10, 1937, in Eau\r\n Claire.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHelen worked as head cook at Hilltop-UWEC for over 25 years,\r\nretiring at age 72. Prior to that she\r\nworked as a waitress at Wally's Swiss Chalet and was a life-long seamstress.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHelen was a member of St. Pat's Parish in Eau Claire. She spent nearly 30 years camping\r\nat Prince's Resort on Cornell Lake,\r\n WI, which was her second home. Helen\r\nlived independently until age 92, driving herself to area nursing homes,\r\nvolunteering her time and delivering cookies. As an avid card player, Helen\r\nparticipated in several card clubs and enjoyed spending time with many friends\r\nat the Eau Claire Senior\r\n Center. Helen was also\r\nknown for her superb cooking and baking skills, as well as her exceptional seamstress\r\nabilities. Most of all, Helen was known as a loving Mom and Grandma to many,\r\nwith the unique ability to have a special bond with each of her loved ones. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHelen is survived by four daughters, Deanna (Allen)\r\nRobertson of Cameron, Mary Helen (Tom) Ryan of Madison, Deb (John) Stange of\r\nEau Claire, and Becky (Gary) McGee of Woodstock, GA; four sons, Jimmy (Kathy)\r\nof Grafton, Denny (Irene) of New Port Richey, FL, Steve of Braselton, GA, and\r\nHenry "Junior" (Susan) of Elk Mound; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,\r\ngreat-great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Bjornton\r\nof Eau Claire; special niece, Renee Haas of Eau Claire; many nieces and\r\nnephews; and many good friends. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter\r\nand son-in-law, Peggy and Wally Otterson; son-in-law, Tom Kurtz; special\r\nnephew, Glen Haas, her sister, Avalona "Ave" Bastian and three brothers, Arvid\r\nBjornton, Lawrence Bjornton and Palmer Bjornton; and nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFuneral Service will be held at 1PM, Thursday, June 9, 2011,\r\nat Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814\r\n First Ave in Eau\r\n Claire, with Monsignor Edmund Klimek officiating.\r\nBurial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau\r\n Claire.
