Obituary

Helen C. Kolstad O'Gordon, 98, formerly of 215 Ohio St., died Monday, November 6, 2000 at Care Partners Rest Home in Eau Claire. She was born on January 19, 1902 in Eau Claire to Oscar and Dora (Johnson) Anderson. Helen married Henry Kolstad in Eau Claire. Henry died in 1932. She later married Leslie O'Gordon in Eau Claire.\r\nHelen worked in the bead room at Uniroyal Tire Company, retiring after 17 years in 1964.\r\nSurvivors include three children, Virginia Kolstad (Larry Bowman) of Milwaukee, S. John (Doreen) Kolstad and Mary O'Gordon (Jim Knickerbocker) both of Eau Claire; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Henry Kolstad and Leslie O'Gordon; a son, Delos Kolstad; four brothers, Frank, Carl, Clarence and Lawrence Anderson.\r\nHelen was a wonderful mother, a great cook and a devoted gardener. She was happiest when she could share her baking or her beautiful flowers and produce with others. Helen was a talented and creative seamstress, she could make "more"out of "nothing" than anyone could imagine. She will be sadly missed by all.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Vicki C. Simon officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church.
