HELEN G. OLSEN, 89, formerly of 1803 9th St., died Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at Fridley Convalescent Home in Fridley Minnesota. She was born January 4, 1908 in Superior to Olaf and Clara (Larsen) Gradin.. Helen married William "Bill" Olsen on Dec.11, 1934 in Superior. They lived in Tomah until World War II when Bill went to work in the Superior ship yards. \r\nShe was very active in her church as a member of a circle, the quilting group and the senior's group called the "Keenagers". She also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with her grandchildren. Helen remained content and appreciative of everything that others did for her.\r\nSurvivors include three daughters, Nancy Lewis of Blaine MN, Mary (Patrick) Carr of Santa Rosa CA and Debbie (Richard) Vastine of Springfield MO and six grandchildren.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband William in 1982 and by four brothers.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Cynthia A. Crane officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
