Helen W. Olson, 93, formerly of 1839 6th St., died, Monday, February 5, 2001 at the Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born June 29,1907 to Walter and Martha (Erickson) Thompson in Mahtowa, MN. \r\nHelen married Harold E. Olson on September 13, 1930 in Milltown, WI. They made their home in Milltown until 1942, when they moved to Eau Claire.\r\nHelen was a member of First Lutheran Church, Homemakers Club, a life member of Eastern Star and a volunteer at Syverson Lutheran Home. \r\nSurvivors include a son, J. Aubrey (Arleen) Olson of Freeport, IL; four grandchildren, Steven (Nancy Jo) Olson, Kris Olson, Susanne (John) Marschang, and Karin Olson; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beatrice Noden of Minneapolis and Annora Nelson of Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1996; and two brothers, Stanley Thompson and Eric Litell Thompson.\r\nMemorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001 at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Milltown Cemetery in Milltown, WI. Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church.\r\nMemorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church Foundation.
