Helen Patricia (Fobes) Pederson, 89 of Eau Claire, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at Luther Hospital. She was born in Eau Claire on April 14, 1921, a daughter of Frederick and Ruth (Reistad) Fobes at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.She graduated from Eau Claire High School in the class of 1938.Helen married Irving A. Pederson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on March 1, 1942, where she was a lifetime member. At Our Savior's Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Phoebean Circle.Helen was employed at Uniroyal as an executive secretary, and retired after 40 years of service. She was a member of the company's ambassador club and attended the yearly reunions. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to V.F.W. Post #305, a fifty year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #53, the Elks Ladies #402 and Eau Claire Women of the Moose 1408, as well as the Wednesday Morning social group at Plymouth Congregational Church. Helen volunteered many years at Sacred Heart Hospital at the information desk, and the Veterans Hospital in Tomah, WI. Helen is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Peter Johnson of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Donovan Pederson of Eau Claire; 10 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; 14 great-great nieces and nephews; and many cousinsHelen was preceded in death by her husband, Irving, in August of 1981; parents, Frederick&Ruth Fobes; brother, Marvin Fobes; and sisters-in-law, Virginia Fobes and Patricia Pederson. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1310 Main Street, Eau Claire, with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.Her family requests that memorials be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
