HELEN R. STRATER, 92, formerly of 411 Germania Street, and Spooner, WI, died Sunday, July 8, 2001 at Dove Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Rock Falls, Wisconsin on May 6, 1909 the daughter of Carl and Caroline (Koller) Schuch.\r\n Helen married Raymond Lund in Eau Claire on October 3, 1930. After his death she married Jack Ayler. Following Jack's death Helen married Holly Strater.\r\nShe was a bartender at many taverns in the Eau Claire area and then owned the Twin Oaks Bar in Spooner for almost 20 years.\r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Geraldine Prueher of Eau Claire; daughter-in-law, Mary Lund of Eau Claire; four grandsons, David (Shelley) Prueher and Robert (Kelley) Prueher, and Michael R. Lund all of Eau Claire, and James A. (Mary) Lund of Opelika, AL,; six granddaughters, Linda M. (Kim) Mason, Ruth-Ann (Duane) Mahder, Mary Ellen (David) Brownnell, Anita(Mike Schlageter) Prueher and Barbara (Curt) Holtz all of Eau Claire, Jean (John) Walter of Chippewa Falls; a grandson-in-law, William Boeselager of Spooner; sister, Lucy Lund of Fall Creek; 23 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Lund, Jack Ayler and Holly Strater; son, Romaine "Bozo" C. Lund; a son-in-law, Arthur Prueher; a grandson Kurt Lund and granddaughter Karen Boeselager; nine brothers and seven sisters.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Janusz Kowalski officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. A public prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
