H.O. PETERSON, 80, of Lake Eau Claire, formerly of Eau Claire, died Friday, April 23, 1999 at his home. He was born October 31, 1918 in Fairchild, Wisconsin to John and Olava (Melom) Peterson. He grew up in Fairchild and then moved with his family to Eau Claire where he graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Army with the 31st Fighter Group in Italy and Africa, during World War II until his honorable discharge as Master Sergeant on Sept. 6, 1945. \r\nH.O. married Wanda Hanson on October 22, 1948, in Eau Claire. \r\nHe owned and operated Gateway Credit, a consumer finance business in Eau Claire for 35 years until retiring in 1991. \r\nH.O. was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Noon Lions Club.\r\nSurvivors include three sons, Brent (Susan Barbour) of Oshkosh, Kirk of Augusta, Todd (Cami) of Madison; a daughter, Kristie (Tom) Cousin of Augusta; four grandchildren, Chad Peterson, Anna and Molly Cousin, and Grace Peterson; a brother, Leonard (Doris) of Olathe, KS; four sisters-in-law, Alice M. Hanson, Josephine Peterson, and Margaret Peterson, all of Eau Claire, and Jean (Jim) Heike of Mondovi ; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda in 1997; a sister, Alvina Fergeson; and six brothers, Palmer, Martin, Elmer, Arnold, Clifford and Glenn.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with Pastor Natalie Leske officiating. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery, Town of Hallie. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
