Obituary

Herbert "Herb" A. Hagg, 75, of 115 W. Mac Arthur Avenue died Monday, February 26, 1996 at his home. He was born September 26, 1920 in Leadville, Colorado to Frank and Sophie (Rosse) Hagg. Herb received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1943. He served with the US Navy during World War II and was honorably discharge in 1946. On October 4, 1947 Herb married Lillian Johnson in Madison, MN. Herb worked 35 years with NSP until his retirement in 1981.He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where he ushered, attended the Three S's Men's Bible Study, the church men's group and was a member of the church instrumental ensemble. He was a member of the Board of Electrical Examiners, the Wisconsin Professional Engineers, I.E.E.E., the Golden Kiwanis and was a member of the Eau Claire Municipal Band for eleven years. Herb is survived by his wife, Lillian; a daughter, Kathryn (Timothy) Gauger of Mankato, MN ; a son, Charles (Janet) Hagg of Eau Claire; a brother, Henry (Virginia) Hagg of Clarkfield, MN; four sisters-in-law, Virginia Hagg of Wichita, KS, Celesta Hagg of Marshall, MN, Elsa Ditty of St. Cloud, MN, and Judy Johnson of Willmar, MN; a brother-law, Harold (Opal) Johnson of Alexandria, MN, several aunts, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bernard, Fredrick, Albert; and his Aunt and Uncle, Florence and Henning Hagg who raised Herb from the age of seven.Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Barbara A. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.The Family requests memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home or Northwest Wisconsin Hospice Homecare.
