Ida L. Crooker, 85, of 1909 Vine St., died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at The Clairemont. She was born on September 30, 1916 in Eau Claire to William and Mary (Strout) Girnau. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School and attended Eau Claire State Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate.\r\nIda married Myron A. Crooker on April 2, 1937 in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was worked as a receptionist at Aanes Photography Studio for twenty years until her retirement.\r\nIda and Myron owned a cabin on Lake Eau Claire since 1948 and were active in the Eau Claire Lake Owners Association. She was a member of a quilting club, homemakers club and bridge club. Ida enjoyed gardening with a wide variety of flowers. She loved to take road trips with her sister-in-law, Margaret Girnau, heading out into the countryside in their car. \r\nSurvivors include her son, Peter of Eau Claire; daughter Mary Swanson of Spring Park, MN; grandson, Curtis (Kym) Swanson of Minnetrista, MN; granddaughter, Carrie (Anthony) Kuznik of Brooklyn Park, MN; six great-grandsons, Blake, Derek, Connor, Tony, Anson and Aaron; and her brother, William Girnau, Jr. of Eau Claire.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myron in 1985; son-in-law Harold Swanson; and her sister, Mary Jane Caldwell.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002 at Christ Church Cathedral with the Very Rev. H. Scott Kirby officiating. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
