Obituary

\r\nIdella A. Bruness, age 91, of Eau Claire, passed away November 30, 2010. \r\nShe is preceded in death by her husband, Juell "Jack", a WWII vet; parents, Oscar and Blanche Amundson; sister, Sylvia Sneen and brother, Norman Amundson. She will be dearly missed by her surviving sister, Elaine Loechler of Elk Mound and by numerous nieces and nephews.\r\nIdella graduated from Eau Claire High School, moved to Minneapolis and worked for the arsenal during WWW II. Following the war she worked and retired from Honeywell Corp. where she was respected and admired for her efficiency and hard work ethic. After retirement, Jack and Idella returned to Eau Claire to be near family. She loved to fish, travel, garden, take care of her home, and all types of handwork - especially quilting, volunteering at Luther Hospital and the midway at the MN State Fair. She brightened the lives of all who knew her with her 'quick to help' hand, her quiet, feisty encouragement, and sweet smile. Her family wishes to extend our heartfelt "Thank You" to the loving staff at Heritage Court Memory Care Home.\r\nA Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire WI 54703 with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010, in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
