Ione B. Froseth, age 81, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, She was born May 3, 1931 in Eau Claire, to The Rev. Lester and Thelma (Mikesell) Root. Ione married LaVerne D. Froseth on July 28, 1950 in Eau Claire. She worked at Schumacher Motor Freight, Chippewa Motor Freight, UWEC, Presto and Chippewa Shoe in Information Technology as a key punch operator until her retirement. Ione enjoyed knitting and other crafts, fishing, traveling and camping, playing cards and dominoes, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ione is survived by her sons, The Rev. Gary (Nan Fenner) of Wausau and Michael of Monroe, WI; two daughters, Sue (Jeffrey) Wilson of Stoughton and Sally (Zachary) Guerrero of Cudahy; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, LaVerne (Gloria) Root of Menasha; two sisters, Lorraine Bucklew of Eau Claire and Ardith (Don) Hopf of Chippewa Falls; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne in 2009; her parents; infant son, Dale Howard Froseth; and her brother, Emert Root. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1120 Cedar St., Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Gerd J. Bents will be officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
