IRENE M. ANDERSON, 66, 9517 Harrison Rd., Angola, NY, formerly of Eau Claire, died Saturday, January 8, 2000 at her home in Angola. \r\nShe was born February 23, 1933 to Rosario and Maria (Principale) Scovazzo inBuffalo, NY, and lived there with her family until her marriage to Arthur L. Anderson Jr. on May 21, 1954. In 1959, she and Arthur came to live in Eau Claire.\r\nIrene was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Eau Claire for over thirty years, and a member of its Ladies' Guild, for which she also served as treasurer.At its start, and for many years following, Irene was the chef for St. Patrick'sAnnual "Spaghetti Supper", using her family's own traditional recipe. She was one of the founding members of Eau Claire's "Italian American Club". Friends may remember her for her cheerfulness and humor during the time she worked at Ray's Foodland, formerly located on Brackett Ave.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Chris (Donald) Winslow of Redwood City, CA, and Carole (William) Simon of Eau Claire; two sons, Arthur L. Anderson IIIof Angola, and John (Tammy) Anderson of Red Wing, MN; five sisters, Betty Raimondo of Kenmore, NY, Carrie Rizzuto, Tonawanda, NY, Dorothy Bierzynski, West Seneca, NY, Rita Bampton, also of Tonawanda, and Jane Mott of Angola; a brother, Vincent Scovazzo of Kenmore, NY; twelve grandchildren;and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur; and brothers, Russell, Frank, and Henry.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. Mr. Larry J. Agema officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. There will be a 6:45 p.m. public prayer service Thursday at the funeral home.\r\nThe family is grateful to Hospice-Buffalo for their excellent care and compassionate support during her final illness. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
