Irene F. Clark, 92, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Eau Claire, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at the Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls. \r\nIrene was born April 10, 1918, to Elias and Mayme (Parker) Tellstrom in the Town of Seymour, WI. \r\nOn June 26, 1937, she married John "Jack" W. Clark in Eau Claire. After Jack's death in 1964, Irene went to work at Crossroads Café until 1970. She then worked at the Crosstown Café until1980, when she left to work as a Senior Aide for Eau Claire County Department of Aging / Nutrition until her retirement in 1990.\r\nShe was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Irene's faith gave her strength and comfort as she faced many challenges throughout her life. \r\nIrene loved working with flowers and plants, and was known in her neighborhood as the "Plant Doctor". She was an avid recipe collector and a great cook. \r\nIrene is survived by her daughter, Jill (Ed) Mertens of Chippewa Falls; 11 grandchildren,Tracey Patchen, Kris Jenderny, Linda Coffey, John Clark, Dennis Bryant, Michael Moland, Donald and Lisa Parker, Timothy and Tamara Clark, Suzanne, Rebecca and Jennifer Clark; three step grandchildren, Michelle Bora, Amy Rehm and Jason Mertens; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John; three sons, Calvin, Ralph and Dale Clark; grandson-in-law, David Nelson; two sisters, Mildred Schnider and Dorothy Anderson; and two brothers, George and Walter Tellstrom.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1500 Peterson Ave., Eau Claire, with Pastor Paul Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
