Irene Vivian Cleasby, age 88, of Altoona, WI, died, Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona, WI. Irene was born October 30, 1927 in the Town of Hale, WI, to Jacob and Hannah Engevold. She attended Whitehall Schools and on May 29, 1990 she married Fred Cleasby. Irene worked for Uniroyal Tires, Davis Photo Art and the Farmers Store. Her last position was as the Assistant Activity Director for The Syverson Retirement Home in Eau Claire. She had a never ending love for birds, gardening and traveling. Irene is survived by her husband, Fred of Altoona; step-daughter, Kriss Cleasby; nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul Ludwikowski; and thirteen siblings. A Memorial Visitation and Service will take place from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at West Chapel, Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire, WI, with Pastor Steve Rutter officiating. Burial of her Cremation Remains will take place following the service at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.
