Irene B. Myhre, 89, formerly of 901 S. Farwell St., died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at Dove Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on July 17, 1911 to Edward and Catherine (Brecker) Klessig in Green Grove, Clark County, Wisconsin.\r\nIrene married Edward Myhre on May 21, 1930 in Neillsville. They lived in several different towns until moving to Eau Claire in 1952. \r\nShe worked for thirty-five years at Fanny Farmer Candies. She was manager at their downtown Eau Claire store and later at London Square Mall .\r\nSurvivors include her son, Richard A (Audrey) Myhre of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Cheryl (Tony) Olson of Chippewa Falls, Brian Myhre of River Falls, and Kirk (Karen) Myhre of Milwaukee; four great-grandchildren, Cole Olson, Erika, Kayla, and Leah Myhre; two sisters, Eleanor Molle of Spencer and Alma Hintz of Milwaukee; one brother, Norman (Betty) Klessig of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1966; two sisters, Celia Johnson and Ann Mandel; and a brother, Leo Klessig.\r\nMemorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.\r\nIn lieu of flowers her family requests memorials be directed Luther Park Bible Camp.
