Irvin "Speed" C. Bowen, 90, of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025. He was born on December 13, 1934 in Pierce County to Arnold and Berniece (Harding) Bowen. Irvin graduated from Spring Valley High School with the class of 1953. On June 30, 1956, Irvin married Bessie M. Sturz at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Irvin worked for Armour Food Company for thirty years and then worked as a courier for Sacred Heart Hospital until his retirement. Over his lifetime, Irvin enjoyed camping and fishing in Birchwood, gambling, RV road trips and tending to his yard and garden. He also enjoyed card games with friends and dancing a waltz or polka with his wife. He is survived by three children, Steve Bowen of Eau Claire, Brad Bowen of Springfield, TN and Cheryl Long of White House, TN; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, Bessie, brothers Eldon and LeRoy Bowen and granddaughter, Amy Bowen. Graveside service for Irvin, officiated by Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd's Pastor Toufar will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
