Irving E. Richard, Jr., 78, of Eau Claire died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at his home.He was born March 13, 1927, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Irving and Ada (Samson) Richard.\r\nHe served in the United States Navy from 1944 through 1946.\r\nIrving married Patricia G. Quinn on June 28, 1952, in St. Paul, MN.\r\nThey moved to Canada in 1959 Irving worked as a district sales manager for the Soo Line Railroad; he was relocated to Eau Claire in 1967 where he worked until his retirement in 1985.\r\nHe was a member of Elks Club 402, and Chapel Heights United Methodist Church.\r\nIrving is survived by his wife, Patricia; three children, Raymond (Laura) Richard of Brainerd, MN, Joyce Bartels of Coon Rapids, MN, and Judy (Jim) Plucker of Hastings, MN; five grandchildren, Kelsey and Robyn Plucker, and Kara, Kalley and Paul Richard; twin brother, Raymond of St. Paul, MN; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Warren and Kenneth Richard.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2005, at Chapel Heights United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim McKay officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2005 with military graveside rites. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
