Obituary

IVAN A. TIETZ, 82, of Waunakee, and formerly Eau Claire, died Wednesday, July 29, 1998 at University Hospital in Madison. He was born on December 22, 1915 in the town of Sand Creek, Wisconsin to Bernard and Elizabeth (Gehring) Tietz. Ivan married Celina Repaal in Eau Claire on February 12, 1938. They farmed near Sand Creek until 1948, and then moved to Eau Claire where he operated the Broadway Grocery until 1959 and then the 5th Avenue Coin and Hobby Shop for many years. Following Celina's death he later married Elvera Schultz.\r\nHe is survived by his three sons, James A. and Robert (Susan) both of Waunakee, WI, and David (Dianne) of St. Petersburg,FL; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wives, Celina in June 1964 and Elvera in October 1975; a sister,Vera Johnson and an infant brother, Oscar.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Eau Claire with Pastor Frederick C. Sauder officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Auburn Cemetery in Auburn Township near Bloomer. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
