Ivar T. Garborg, 82, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at his residence. He was born on his family farm in the Township of Garborg in Norway on January 18, 1934, a son of Thorvald and Gunda (Egeland) Garborg. When he was 19, Ivar came to the United States, and became a U.S. Citizen on November 30, 1967. Ivar married Marjorie Luke and they later divorced. He married Darlene M. Peterson-Melsness on September 30, 2000, in Eau Claire. Ivar worked in construction, as a plaster, and also had worked for Uniroyal Tire until his retirement in 1992. Ivar was a member of the Sons of Norway, Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club, Westgate Sportsmen's Club "Old Geezers" Trap Team, and a Gold Member at Eagle's Club. Ivar enjoyed hunting deer, turkey and geese, fishing in Canada, watching the birds, deer and turkeys in the yard, a good "Whiskey Manny", playing cards, a good Harley ride, the Packers and Brewers, and especially, his Basenji's: Sally, Bruce, Patty & BJ. Ivar is survived by his wife, Darlene; son, Eric of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Christopher, Austin, Savanna and Damon Garborg; brothers and sisters, Torfinn (Helga) Garborg, Kjell (Dagmar) Garborg, Hanna (Sigmund) Handeland, Bjé
