J. David "Dave" Luebkeman, 93, resident of Round Lake in the town of Sampson, near New Auburn, WI died Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Bloomer, WI. He was born in Eau Claire on June 30, 1910, the son of Chris and Jenny (Stang) Luebkeman. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School where he played basketball and was quarterback of the football team. During the depression he attended Eau Claire Teachers College where he received his teaching degree. Following graduation he worked in Manitowoc five years then moved to Libertyville, IL. There he worked at Anchor Coupling retiring as Vice President of Sales in 1965. Dave earned his private pilots license in 1955 which began a lifelong interest in aviation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life.\r\nDave married Jean Getchell in Wayne, Illinois on June 13, 1974.\r\nHe was a member of Libertyville, Illinois Lodge #492, a 32nd degree mason, and member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Eau Claire.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Jean; and son, David Luebkeman of Hillsborough, CA.\r\nPreceded in death by his parents; brother, George; and his sister, Frances Zimmerman\r\nFuneral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and an hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to The American Cancer Society, 2427 N.
